The boring but important bit
PRIVACY POLICY.
What Routine-ish collects, why it is collected, and what happens to it.
Routine-ish is an independent UK-based lifestyle and content website at routineish.com. If you have a privacy question or want to exercise a data-protection right, use the Contact page.
WHAT INFORMATION ROUTINE-ISH COLLECTS
The site is deliberately fairly low-data. Depending on how you use it, Routine-ish may process:
- Contact details and messages when you use the contact form, such as your name, email address, subject and message.
- Technical information generated when you visit the site, such as IP address, browser/device information, requested pages and security/server logs.
- Information stored on your device where a feature needs it. For example, the “I’ve Completely Lost the Day” rescue tool can use local browser storage to remember your progress on that device.
- Affiliate referral information when you follow an affiliate link. The retailer or affiliate network may process click and purchase information under its own privacy policy.
WHY THAT INFORMATION IS USED
Routine-ish uses personal information only where there is a reason to do so. This includes replying to messages you send, operating and securing the website, preventing abuse, maintaining the site, and understanding whether an affiliate referral resulted in a commission.
For contact messages and normal site administration, the main lawful basis is generally legitimate interests: running the website, responding to people who contact it, and keeping the service secure. Where a feature specifically relies on consent, consent will be requested before that processing takes place.
WHO INFORMATION MAY BE SHARED WITH
Routine-ish does not sell personal data. Information may be processed by service providers needed to run the site, including the web host and email provider. If you click an affiliate link, the relevant retailer or affiliate network may receive referral information. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or necessary to protect the site and its users.
INTERNATIONAL PROCESSING
Some service providers may process information outside the UK. Where UK data-protection law requires safeguards for those transfers, the relevant provider is expected to use an approved transfer mechanism or another lawful safeguard.
HOW LONG INFORMATION IS KEPT
Information is not kept for longer than it is reasonably needed for the purpose it was collected for. Contact messages may be retained while an enquiry is being handled and for a reasonable period afterwards. Technical and security logs are retained according to the hosting and security services used by the site. Third-party services set their own retention periods.
YOUR RIGHTS
Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you rights to access your personal data, correct it, ask for it to be deleted, restrict or object to processing, receive certain data in a portable format, and withdraw consent where consent is being relied on.
To make a request, use the Contact page. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you are unhappy with how your personal information is handled.
COOKIES AND LOCAL STORAGE
Routine-ish uses cookies and similar browser storage only as described in the Cookie Policy.
THIRD-PARTY LINKS
Routine-ish links to other websites, including retailers and affiliate partners. Once you leave Routine-ish, the other site is responsible for its own privacy practices.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
This notice may be updated as Routine-ish adds or changes features. The date at the top will be changed when a material update is made.
